Dua Lipa is blowing up on YouTube!
Now that's not an odd thing to say on a New Music Friday, especially when she releases a new video but in this case the hypre may fit the action...literally!
In her new video for the song "Illusion," Dua Lipa is propelled into the air above a swimming pool. The video for the third single from her album, "Radical Optimism," was directed by Tanu Muino, and features Lipa, her dancers, high divers, and synchronized swimmers at the Piscina Municipal de Montjuïc in Barcelona, Spain. Lipa climbs a tower, and holds onto a Cyr wheel, which pulls her out of the water and into the sky, possibly creating holy s*** moment of the year.
“‘Illusion’ was the first song Caroline, Danny, Tobias, Kevin and I worked on together, and it really broke the ice for the record,” Lipa said. “It’s about knowing what you’re getting yourself into, but staying for the hell of it. The joke’s on them, it’s the fun of playing someone at their own game because ultimately you won’t fall for an illusion.”
The new album will be released on May 3rd, and will consist of 11 songs, including “Houdini” and “Training Season.”
